Aerial Views of Hazen's Master Site Plan

Stepping onto Camp Hazen property is like stepping into a different world. People are more friendly, being silly is second nature, adventure is around every corner, nature is embraced, and when kids play games there are no videos involved.

In order to preserve this special and magical Hazen world, it is necessary for the buildings, grounds, and facilities to stay comfortable and contemporary. With this in mind, in 2008 the Camp Hazen YMCA Board of Directors approved a new Master Site Plan, shown above, which provides a 10-year plan for updates, improvements, renovations, and additions to the Hazen property. The next projects to be undertaken include:
• A new Sachem Shower House
• A new Mosakwa Longhouse
• New Pavilions

Major past Capital Projects include the 2007 purchase of Pattaconk Village: an addition to the Hazen grounds that is now home to six seasonal and two winterized cottages, a new archery range open field space, and access to Duck Pond. This successful acquisition has given campers and staff new places to play, discover, and grow.

In the past several years, capital projects have included expanding and updating the Sachem Longhouse and the renovation of all 26 of Hazen’s camper cabins.

By donating to Capital Projects, you are not only committing to preserving our foundations; you are contributing to the continued development of Camp Hazen YMCA.
